We're 501(c)3 charitable organization focused on education about Regenerative living and building communities that are as self-sustainable as possible. We're hoping that our experience can help educate and inspire others to do the same!
As we go we're documenting our progress, and working to educate Americans about this refreshed way of living. We invite you to join us on our journey, learn with us and maybe even start a community of your own!
So we're partnering with and supporting self-sustainable communities so that that we all can continue thriving when the grids eventually fail.
Check out our Projects below!
We aren't anti-electricity luddites by any means, we just know how vulnerable the electrical grids are. Government at all levels has known this for decades, and they've done nothing.
In partnership with the Solar Killshot Action Network (SKAN), The Grid-Gone Project is in the initial stages of creating Grid-Gone Academy! This learning platform will start as an online knowledge network, hosting educational videos and printable supplements to teach skills in regenerative living. Major categories will include: Regenerative Agriculture and Permaculture; Passive Architecture; Community Life, Administration, and Defense; Artisanry and Foundational Civilizational Skills; and more.
Down the road, when GGP has a physical location, this academy will expand into the real world, where we will build facilities for hosting classes, workshops, and research into all of the aspects of Regenerative Living. Such classes may include things like: Basics of Spinning and Weaving Wool, Linen, and Cotton; How to Grow and Process Dyes; Building Chicken Tractors for the Homestead; Carpentry Basics; Intro to Blacksmithing; and other similar classes focused on practical skills building. We will also be engaged in practicing permaculture and regenerative agriculture, with the harvests going to local shelters, food pantries, and families in need.
When considering a future with neither electricity nor trade routes, one needs to consider how to keep livestock over the winter months, when pasture and forage will be low in productivity, or perhaps even minimally accessible due to snow. With no feedstores, no way to ship in more feed, one needs to have grown their own and stored it. While there are countless recipes for homestead chicken feed online, all rely on mostly purchased ingredients, many of which are shipped long distances. Moreover, when trying to find out how much of what plants one would need to plant to successfully overwinter chickens (or other animals), information is spotty at best.
Therefore, GGP is developing calculators to fill just this need. Out idea is this: the homesteader decides they want to overwinter X hens, Y roosters, Z Geese and w Ganders, and they need to be overwintered for A Months or B Weeks. The homesteader uses our calculator to plug in the numbers of critters to be fed, and for how long and the calculator says: You need to harvest __ weight of (grain 1), __ weight of (grain 2), etc.
The Grid-Gone Project is pleased to announce our first Farm Partnership with Sol Haven Ranch! (Website coming soon!)
Sol Haven Ranch is a for-profit regenerative ranch and farm currently in the planning stages. Grid-Gone is helping consult with location evaluation and planning. Eventually, Grid-Gone will lease a portion of the land that Sol Haven purchases to host our headquarters and learning facilities.
Together, Sol Haven and Grid-Gone will test various regenerative and permaculture methods for practicality, ease of implementation, health, and sustainability. Grid-Gone and Sol Haven agree that if one cannot build a functional business while we have the grid, ones ability to sustain without the grid is in serious question. Sol Haven will function as a Proof-of-Concept for the Regenerative Living System that Grid-Gone promotes.
